Movie Overview For One Day On Earth
Melanie Parker, an architect and mother of Sammy, and Jack Taylor, a newspaper columnist and father of Maggie, are both divorced. They meet one morning when overwhelmed Jack is left unexpectedly with Maggie and forgets that Melanie was to take her to school. As a result, both children miss their school field trip and are stuck with the parents. The two adults project their negative stereotypes of ex-spouses on each other, but end up needing to rely on each other to watch the children as each must save his job. Humor is added by Sammy's propensity for lodging objects in his nose and Maggie's tendency to wander.TagLine One Day On Earth

Review For One Day On Earth
The overall impression is as fleeting as much of the imagery that flashes across the screen.Sheri Linden-Los Angeles Times
One day on Earth proves too little and too much for One Day on Earth.
Robert Koehler-Variety
It all flies by, nothing sinks in, but the cumulative effect is somewhat overwhelming. How could it not be?
Peter Rainer-Christian Science Monitor
The film's 104 minutes ambitiously packs in a huge amount of evocative imagery that well conveys the diversity of life on the planet.
Frank Scheck-Hollywood Reporter
Too often, it is no more than a set of flashcards, with no feel for the images other than to note that it's Andorra or Burkina Faso or Tuvalu we're admiring.
Daniel M. Gold-New York Times
Ultimately, a collage film is only as good as its constituent parts, and, with a few exceptions, the brief snippets from this particular day on earth are far too prosaic to be illuminating.
Andrew Schenker-Village Voice
Stretched so thin it almost disappears.
Christopher Long-Movie Metropolis
